Instagram may eventually allow users to access previous stories from their followers that they missed during the first 24 hours. According to a recent report, the Meta-owned social networking site is developing a feature that would allow users to watch Story Highlights from mutual followers up to a week after they are posted. According to reports, this functionality will only be available for stories added to Highlights by the original poster. Meta is claimed to be testing this functionality with a limited number of people right now.
Instagram is testing a new story highlights viewing feature
According to a TechCrunch article, Instagram has begun showing some users previously unseen Story Highlights from mutual followers. A spokeswoman for Meta stated that the new Story watching functionality is currently being tested. It is said to have been discovered by social media guru Ahmed Ghanem.
Instagram users will be able to access previously unseen Story Highlights from the last week thanks to this feature. It appears at the end of the Story tray, which is located at the top of the feed. You can only access the older Story Highlights once you've read through the rest of the stories on your feed. If your feed is overloaded with tales from people you follow, and you never finish the current Story updates, you may never see the earlier Story Highlights.
Another important aspect of this feature is that it only displays Story Highlights that the original poster has saved to their profiles as a "Highlight." Users will be unable to see normal older stories that expire after 24 hours. This is likely to guarantee that consumers miss fewer updates from their social circles as sponsored articles and other online content continue to rise.
The functionality is presently being evaluated with a limited group of individuals. It will soon become available to all Instagram users worldwide.
The Meta-owned social networking site just discreetly introduced a feature that allows Instagram users to plan direct messages. Users may plan text-only communications via DMs, and it is available on both iOS and Android devices.
