Robert Pattinson's The Batman Part II has been postponed till 2027.
The action thriller was scheduled to open in theaters on October 2, 2026. But it has been put back yet again.
On December 27, Warner Bros. announced the revised release date for the Matt Reeves directorial. However, they did not provide the reasoning behind the change.
Earlier today, DC CEO James Gunn confirmed the revelation, adding, "Yes, it is true."
On Instagram Threads, Gunn detailed why the highly anticipated film was delayed.
According to the creator, the script for the upcoming DC picture has not yet been finalized, and no one knows when it will be finished.
"Yes, it's true. The main reason for the delay is that there isn't a full script (which those of you who follow me here are probably well aware of).
"Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write."
"Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films" , according to the release.
It is important to note that the Batman sequel has been rescheduled for the second time.
